Early Joint issues In Canines |
By Holistic And Organix Pet Shoppe/Canine Arthritis And Joint
Lately I have seen a lot of people talking about their dog all of a sudden going down, or limping, in pain or not acting right. And the dog is still in its early years of life. First thing I ask is, are you giving joint support and what do you feed your dog. Now even though I am big on raw diets and I truly believe they help a dog tremendously, some people just don't want to do the raw or homemade diet. That's ok, but there is still an opportunity to switch to a better dog food. I will say this, I do not like Kibble. I think it's the worst thing on the planet. It's like feeding cardboard to your dog every day. There is no nutrition from it. It is hard to digest and even causes diseases to arise. It's like feeding your child a McDonald's hamburger every day. And it aggravates arthritic pets. Don't forget to watch out for nightshade foods as well. |
My recommendation for a good dog food is canned of high quality and/or organic (gran free) or a raw diet or partial raw/home cooked but with plenty of the correct supplements. I myself will use a canned food for back up for emergencies like running out of raw or if I am sick which is rare. Whatever food you do feed, make sure you change the food every 3 months when using commercial foods. FYI - most all vitamins in commercial pet foods contain synthetic (made in china) vitamins that the body doesn't recognize nor can it use. So feeding a high protein diet, low carbs and a small amount of greens and raw veggies (pureed) is best. They make an organic greens powder loaded with all natural vitamins. I highly recommend that. If you have any friends that have pets, make sure they are giving the correct supplements. ANY dog over the age of 1 year, should be on a joint supplement. This will help prevent arthritis as she/he ages. If they are not given, then your dog as they age WILL get arthritis sooner than later, just like people. So get them on a multivitamin (I recommend the greens powder in place of multivitamins) and a good joint supplement along with high quality fish oil. Make sure you give Vitamin E at least 2-3 times a week with fish oils. Here is why... So do your dog a favor..and tell your friends for their dogs, and put them on these supplements to extend the lives of a happy playful senior. |
